Meet Spencer

Last year, I made a post on the Triad Photography Facebook page talking about my experience as a photographer and asking if anyone was looking for an intern. Not long after, a person contacted me. Instead of offering me a position, they told me about Hair of the Dog Academy. Through there, I learned that you can take pictures just about anywhere. This eventually led me to taking a picture of my dog, Avett. I loved the experience. I wasn't planning on contacting the people who helped me. It seemed weird to message them out of the blue, but I did. I showed them the picture I had taken, and they were kind enough to invite me to join this exclusive group of pet photographers. They had an inspiration summit and one of the speakers was Erica Lane, who gave a talk about her process of photographing dogs in her studio. Seeing the way she worked and the portraits from professionals made me want to switch to studio work. These wonderful people continue to maintain contact with me and with their help, I can proudly say that my name is Spencer Hale, and I’m a pet photographer
